The women from Church of the Redeemer showered us with gifts, support and blessings at the Kerson's house. As the only male invited (unless our little one is actually a boy ;) I was blessed to see the women of the church come together in such a way and to be so incredibly generous—especially in praying over us. We are so grateful. Below are a few photos of the fun festivities.

Danielle and baby rocking. |
This weekend we celebrated Danielle---that is, we celebrated her birthday. As we're awaiting the arrival of our little viking boy or girl, a number of us collaborated to present her with a green gliding rocking chair, among other things.
Danielle and I spent Friday night at General Boyd's B&B in Lake Geneva, enjoying a little time away. We were surprised at how refreshing it was to get away from the demands of work and home. I actually left my Macintosh at home, which many of you will know is practically inconceivable. :) On Saturday, we toured around downtown Lake Geneva, walked the dock, and headed back to Evanston for a baby shower---which Danielle says was amazingly wonderful.
Thank you all for your continued prayers. Preparations are coming along well, and we remain very excited to welcome our little one. Please pray especially for timing, as we have a potentially long drive to the hospital's Alternative Birthing Center. Incidentally, we were also interviewed by National Public Radio (NPR) for a special on midwives in Illinois. We'll let you know if we hear of it hitting the airwaves. Life is an adventure.
