One of the treasures we discovered in Scotland was a book of poems entitled
The Singing Pilgrim by John Huie, published in 1906. We acquired the book from Blair Atholl Books, a quaint rare bookshop in the Highlands.
This exerpt is from Huie's poem, "To Christ."
O Christ, Thou art our confidence,
Thy love our rock unshaking,
From changeful things of time and sense,
From death to life awaking;
By love inspired, with hope we sing
Of Thee, our Saviour and our King.
Since we were crucified with Thee,
No more sin's burden bearing,
But sons of God redeemed and free
We walk, still homeward faring;
Thy love constraining us, we sing
Of Thee, our Saviour and our King.
Yes, it's been a month since either of us posted anything new to the site. We are still looking for that time to upload photos to the site... perhaps tomorrow evening? :)
Just a quick update... Things are going well with us. We are learning more and more about the cottage we're renting. We're presently involved in a battle to rid the attic of squirrels, with the assistance of our landlords. We're looking for opportunities to get to know our neighbors and Danielle is doing a great job learning where things are in the area. Please continue to pray for us and our household as we step forward in God's grace. We're thankful for all of you who encourage us and faithfully pray for us.
Case in point: I, Jason, dropped a small bookshelf across all ten of my toes on Thursday. Great fun. And very painful. God has been so incredibly gracious to answer our prayers in preserving all of them, including my big left toe which received the worst injury. God has healed it extremely quickly, and although it is still a deep purple and slightly swollen, the pain is quite manageable and I can once again put my full weight on it. Praise God!
Please pray for some website jobs I have been working on since before our wedding. One ministry in Florida has lost touch with me, and it is an important job. Thanks! :)
