The happy couple--Heidi and Josh Payne. |
We were in Maryland for the wedding of Danielle's cousin, Heidi. This was our first official roadtrip as a married couple. A wedding is always a good reason to travel, and it was a joy to see Heidi and Josh vow to love one another before their God and family. It was good to reconnect with Danielle's side of the family. The trip was even sweeter for me because I got to spend some time with my brother, John, at Fells Point in downtown Baltimore. Danielle and I had breakfast with John and Stephanie at Garry's, a great breakfast place in Annapolis--although we had far less time with them than we would have liked.

Like the old hymn "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing," we are home by God's good grace. For those of you anxious to know for certain where we went on our honeymoon, we'll give you the brief version right now. We were in the Highlands and islands of Scotland. :) We had a tremendously wonderful time, and we are grateful for all of your prayers for us. Since we were disconnected from news during the majority of our journey, we missed out on the terrorist plot that was uncovered by MI-5 in London. We are grateful to God that we returned safely and are now able to continue to establish this household which God is building for His glory.
We'll be posting some more photos and commentary in the days to come, but wanted to let you all know how much your love and friendship means to us.
This is a photo of the view from our front door. It's breathtaking in real life. :) But we will soon be leaving here for another destination. Unfortunately, we've run out of batteries for our digital cameras and recharging them is a challenge here. We'll have to resort to disposable Kodak cameras for the remainder of our journey. We hope to post some more photos on the site after we get back...
Can you guess where we are? |
We have had very few opportunities to have an internet connection and will be out of range again for the next couple days. By God's grace, all is well and we are enjoying some amazing views of God's creation.
That's right, sportsfans. We are about to embark on our honeymoon. Since I have no idea if we will have an internet connection while traveling, and want to leave room for spontaneity, this may be our last update on the weblog for awhile. If we do have a connection, though, we may update you and post some photos from the journey as we go. :)
In any case, thank you again for your support, love and prayers as we begin married life together!
