About Danielle
I was born in Michigan to David and Brenda York, the second of eight children. I spent the first two years of my life learning how to climb a spiral staircase before I could walk. This started my love affair with heights. Now when I get the chance I can be found scaling the walls at a climbing gym. When I was two the family moved to Dallas so that my father could attend Dallas Theological Seminary. After four very hot years down there (during this time it did snow once!) we moved to Milwaukee. I have lived in Milwaukee ever since and love the city. This summer, however, I become a resident of Illinois. How fast can that Volvo go?!!!
I cannot remember a time without music. I started to learn to play the piano when I was very young and continued through High School. Singing is like breathing if you are a York. My first performance experience was singing with my two sisters Charissa (older) and Erin (the next younger) and my mother in church. I have had opportunities through the years to perform with all my other siblings as well. Adam (24), Alicia (20), Caitlin (18), Joel (16), Ethan (13).
Through the years other interests have come and gone but singing has always been a constant. I received my Bachelor of Arts in music and theatre from Connecticut State. I spent my early twenties in pursuit of an opera career. I also taught voice out of my private studio and at Maranatha Baptist Bible College.
My relationship with Christ started at a very young age. Growing up as a pastor's daughter I heard the story of Christ's death and resurrection from the moment I was born. I accepted that story as true when I was only four years old. That was the beginning of the journey. When I graduated from High School I came to a crossroads of decision. I chose for myself that Jesus would be the love of my life. I gave my life to him to use as He would. The journey continues.
