Brennen is moving to a new site!

Thursday, October 9, 2008

With the advent of a new birth (Brennen's sister) we are moving to a site for the whole family! We will retain this site as a record of Brennen's first glorious year with us, so you can return as often as you like. But do visit us at www.TheMillerSaga.com for news about the entire family.

Thank you for your love, encouragement, prayers and interest in our lives!

Cousin Noah

Brennen got to celebrate his birthday multiple times over. He experienced his first cake at Uncle Josh and Aunt Amy’s house at a family gathering on Memorial Day. He did the expected and stuck his hand in the frosting... yummy!

We celebrated with gifts before and during the week after his birthday. He stayed with Grandmommy and Grandpa York while Mommy and Daddy were in Elgin for missionary training.

Later in the month he celebrated with the other June birthdays at the Yorks. It was a very spread-out celebration. Brennen didn’t seem to mind.

It’s hard to believe a year has gone by!

We took a number of classes at Gymboree this month. It was good for Brennen to interact with other kids and learn to explore. When we first started he was very timid but by the end of the month he LOVED to climb and go through tunnels.

He started insisting on feeding himself. It was messy (still is!)

He went to the zoo for the first time with Grandpa York and Mommy.

We started out the month with a visit from Aunt Charissa and a chance to meet Bobby for the first time. All four of the boy cousins had a studio picture taken together (that was interesting... thank goodness for Cheerios!)

Brennen loves to play with his daddy! Spring has finally come, thank heaven!

Brennen started crawling this month! He has a funny “one leg out to the side” crawl... kind of like he’s riding a skateboard. He has his first haircut (compliments of Mommy) and spends the night with Grandmommy and Grandpa, his first overnight stay without Mommy and Daddy.

Palm Sunday and Easter are special occasions. On Palm Sunday we process into the church with singing and palms (look for the palm made into a cross that Brennen is holding). For Easter Aunt Amy and Uncle Josh got Brennen a suit. He had a chance to spend some time with his Great-grandma York in Milwaukee.

Month Eight - Snow, snow and more snow!

Brennen is becoming even more interactive. He loves to sit in front of the stereo and listen to music (especially “Clap, clap, clap your hands…”). He, of course, must brush those new teeth he has.

The big news is that his cousin Robert David Glazner was born and just a few days later cousin, Noah Carl Burgoyne was born! We visited Noah in the hospital. Mommy also found out that Brennen will be a big brother in nine months. Brennen was in a bit of a daze at the thought. :)

Brennen enjoys “real food” and playing with his cousin Micah. We started Daddy’s birthday by bringing him a muffin in bed. Both guys were still kind of sleepy when we took this picture!

We had a gathering of The Saints and Brennen got a picture with Mr. Neil (the reason Mommy and Daddy met in the first place) and the other new Saints.

We had Brennen dedicated to God at Church of the Redeemer the last Sunday of January. Our neighbors, Bob and Teri attended and Uncle Josh and Aunt Amy. Aunt Amy made him some very cool shirts to celebrate the day.
